This large White Oak vessel has amazing character with knots, chatoyance, bark inclusions and cracks. It has been dyed blue and yellow with these two colors blending into some areas of the top to make shades of green. It has a five blown glass flowers sprouting from the top that are made with complimentary blues and greens. The spalted oak collar on top is removable so the vessel could be used as a vase. The piece is finished with several coats of shellac and then polished and buffed to a mirror finish. This vessel won a Fine Art Merit award in the juried Woodturning show at the 2011 Georgia National Fair.
