Vases and vessels, sometimes called hollow forms, can take just about any shape. They start out as solid logs, are shaped and finished on the outside, and then hollowed on the inside. They make some of the most beautiful and elegant turnings. Like bowls they can be made from almost any type of hardwood, and frequently have delicate finials that are a contrasting wood or other material or stained to add interest and beauty.
